Buttock Lift
Body Contouring for the Buttocks
Diminishing skin elasticity due to weight loss, gravity, genetics or just from the effects of aging can cause the rear to lose its shape and aesthetic appeal. A Buttock Lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to restore the youthful shape of your backside by removing sagging skin and excess fat from the buttocks and outer thighs.
If your butt has begun to look a little deflated, a Buttock Lift can turn back the clock by improving the shape of your body with a firmer, more toned rear end. Buttock Lifts can also improve the dimpled, lumpy appearance of cellulite.
Buttock Lifts are performed much like other lifting procedures that remove sagging skin and excess fat and lift the remaining skin to improve the body's shape and contour. Buttock Lifts are frequently performed in conjection with a Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) or Lower Body Lift to lift and tighten the buttocks, thighs, abdomen and possibility other areas. Many Buttock Lift procedures also use Liposuction.
Buttock Lift at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery
Our plastic surgeons in Alabama offer extensive experience with Buttock Lifts and body contouring procedures meant to reshape your body with a more taut, lifted and youthful look. A Buttock Lift can make an immediate, dramatic improvement in the contour of your fanny and will probably make you more comfortable wearing more revealing styles of clothing.
During Buttock Lift surgery, Dr. Hedden, Dr. Gunn, Dr. Mostofi or Dr. Halka will make an incision along the lower back. The skin is pulled upward, excess skin and fat is removed and the remaining skin is sutured together. The procedure generally takes approximately 2 hours under general anesthesia.
Birmingham, Alabama Buttock Lifts at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery offer natural-looking, long-lasting results in reshaping the backside. Scars are placed so that they are as well-hidden as possible beneath your shorts or swimsuit.
After a Buttock Lift, patients may experience some soreness, fatique, pain, swelling and bruising. Any pain is generally well-controlled with medication. Swelling may last for several weeks. Most patients are instructed to wear a compression garment for a few weeks. Non-strenuous physical activity can be resumed after a few days, though more vigorous activities should be avoided for up to 6 weeks.
Risks & Possible Complications
As you heal, it's especially important to follow all postoperative instructions given to you by Dr. Hedden. All patients are encouraged to contact our office immediately if they experience any symptoms after surgery that seem to be out of the ordinary.
